Opt for the Yahoo Messenger with Voice 8

This is a most useful version of YM that has complete applications from text and voice messages. It has also audibles, you can select from any of the voices and short voice messages. You can use an avatar of your choice. You can also join the chat room, have a conference with friends, play games and use the webcam videos. This version almost has everything. But check first if it is compatible with your computer.

You can opt to use Twitter-Sync

Your messages can be twitted if you choose this option from twitter. If you usually chat privately, then it would not be advisable. But if you simply send advertising messages to your friends then, using this feature will update your twitter and vice versa instantly.

Know who is invisible

Know who is invisible by clicking on the stealth button of your Yahoo Messenger. You can now determine who among your friends are logged on even if they stay invisible.

Search for friends

You can search for friends who are also on YM by entering their email addresses on the top search option and their YM user names will appear if they are using YM.

Facilitate webcam

Sometimes the webcam is slow and sluggish. To facilitate its transfer, you can close all other applications which are opened. Too much load for your ISP will slow down your YM.

Send and receive files

You can receive and send files through your Yahoo Messenger. You can save them as soon as they are downloaded so they would be safe and would not be deleted accidentally.

Shared viewing

Shared viewing is possible with files, pictures and videos and while you are viewing, you can discuss about the video or picture. Do not share too private pictures as there are no genuine spam filters for YM photos. The privacy settings are limited.
