TWEAK UP YOUR WINDOWS 7

Power plan

The first one is changing the power plan to maximum. Normally the power plan is not set to maximum for performance. The default approach is the balanced performance with energy consumption on hardware. So to get optimal performance you need to change the power plan. It’s simple. Just double click the power options in the control panel, click the down arrow that will show the Additional plans. Click on the High performance and that’s it. Then, I would recommend going to the hard disk and turning off the hard disk after value to never. By doing this you will enable the GC to do its job when logging off.

Time out

My second charm is speeding up the boot up time. It’s also very simple. All you need to do is to press window key plus R. That is open up the run command program. Now by typing “msconfig” in it and pressing enter you will be presented with a window. Click the boot tab in there. You will see the box called Time out. Set its value to zero. Check the No GUI Boot. This will remove the windows 7 logo at boot up; click the apply button and then ok. You can also change the time out for operating system selection from the computer properties window.

Aero theme

You can also disable the aero theme on windows 7. Simply right click your desktop. In the personalize window click the window color tab. Uncheck enable transparency. Then click on the open classic appearance properties for more color options. The window will pop up. You can now apply any standard theme from it.

Unwanted services

You can also disable any unwanted services. It is safer to set the following services to manual then disabling them. It is because of the fact that when it’s critical, windows will automatically start the program. But if you disable them permanently, they cannot be used by the system. First open up the service window. it can be done by clicking start, then in control panel, then Administrative tools and double clicking the Services. To disable the services, scroll down and highlight the service you want to adjust. Right click to choose properties. Click the stop button. Select disable or Manual in the scroll bar.
