TEACHER SUSPENDED OVER “FACEBOOK APPRECIATION SITE”

Facebook LogoBernard Routledge 48 Years Old School’s head teacher and his colleague Helen Price, a 43 year-old associate head of pastoral care, were last month stood down by the school’s Trustees.

The pair were suspended after an investigation was launched, into what school officials described as “social networking and conduct” claims.

It is understood the decision by the school, based in Denbigh, north Wales, related to comments posted on Appreciation webpage established on Facebook.

The school, which charges up to £6,100 a term, would not be drawn on the nature of the comments or what Miss Price’s involvement was.

It also remains unclear what the head teacher’s role is because the site was established by students from his former school, King’s School, Chester, Cheshire.
