GET FREE TRAFFIC TO YOUR SITE USING PINGOMATIC

Pingomatic is a pinging service which can greatly aid you in driving more traffic to your blog or website.It informs some of the best web directories and search engines that your blog is updated or has new content to check out. This will result in free traffic from these web directories without you doing much SEO work.

The more you appear in these web directories the more is your chances of getting indexed by search engines. Search engines love web directories because, they don’t have to guess or blindly poll websites to check for updates.There are many pinging services available for mass pinging, but Pingomatic is the best service in my opinion.It has around 25 directories in its list.Their home page looks like this:

To get started with this service, enter the name of your blog,url of blog and url of rss feed(optional).Select the directories to ping. I normally select all the services in the list.If you dont prefer pinging all the directories then select only the sites which are closest to your blog’s niche.Now click on “Send pings”.Pingomatic will now ping the selected directories with your blog’s update.

For those who think that this process is long, can bookmark this process to save time.Bookmarking the ping page will help you to ping the services in one click without entering the details every time.Note that don’t do this process too often without updating your blog.Otherwise the Pingomatic may consider your website as a bot or spam.

In wordpress enabled blogs all this takes place automatically. To check if the automatic pinging is enabled in your wordpress powered blog, go to settings ->writing in the administrative page. Check the “Update services” at the bottom.Add this line without the quotes “http://rpc.pingomatic.com/” in the box given, if its already not there.On a side note, you can add more services in the box.
